One piece of writing advice that has always helped me came from a colleague at Michigan State.
I was trying to learn (I still am) how to write pieces, and how to share my work with audiences.
Her advice was seemingly simple, but important because you can lose sight of it, especially when you’re writing nonfiction.
She said, “Just tell a story.”
When writing gets hard, no matter what I’m working on (e.g., an article, a book review, a presentation), I fall back on this advice.
It helps me find my way.
